As you know, John Love Electrical has been sold, and we are having to change everything over. This includes your apprenticeship!
Nothing in your apprenticeship will change except the ABN and ACN of John Love Electrical.
If you haven’t been asked to sign the sheet of paper already, then you will be asked to in the next two weeks. It would be a great help if you reminded us that you haven’t signed it, the next time you see Graham or I.
It was announced in the newsletter this week that all first and second years will be getting their online training plans in the next two weeks. You will need the HAMPSON text book to do this training. This is the same as if you were going to TAFE to do it. Please make sure that you have this, and if you don’t, either buy a new one or contact Talia or Graham (at the Sunshine Coast Office).

This is only 27 out of 35!!!! Qusitabs are an important part of your apprenticeship and you need to be doing it every week. It’s harder to CATCH UP then to DO IT RIGHT THE FIRST TIME.

21 out of 34 apprentices have done it, where’s your name??
Did you know that your incentive claims can run out? Yep, that’s right, if you don’t respond to them quick enough (sign them and send them off) then you might not get the money you, or your employer has been offered!!
If you have recently received an incentives form with your pay, or been asked to come in and sign some things, then please do it ASAP!
The main part of our online training is a system of reading from the textbook, looking things up in your workbook, and watching explanatory videos. These videos are all available either on my youtube, or my viddler, and below I’ve put the links to the applied electricity 4 videos.
If you’ve watched them, and you think that you have learnt a bit, and aren’t currently doing the online training, then let me know and I see if it’s possible for you to do it in your own time.
Our online training is slowly beginning to take off, with our first group of apprentices almost ready to complete exams! As it was explained to everyone in the Christmas letter from Graham, not everyone is starting their training straight away. This is due to how busy work is at the moment. We’re still not sure when training will start for everyone else, but as soon as we know, you’ll be told!
The feedback that we’ve received from those doing their online training now has been great in helping us to work out the kinks, and give you what you need to learn! It’s important to remember that it the training is not SOLELY online. You still need to read through you text book before you begin, and refer back to it through the video tutorials. At the moment we’re using TAFE workbooks which are really helpful as well, but we’ll be developing our own soon.
